If you haven't been under a rock (or locked in the comp room all day playing hl2) you should have read about or experienced motion sickness while playing. This is the first FPS that has ever made me personally sick to my stomach. If i continued to play a couple times i would have barfed all over my desk. Some speculate that it's the point of view causing the problem. Here are a couple console commands to change the pov. However, im not sure this really helps.
sv_cheats 1
default_fov 1
fov 90
So, i want to run a poll for our readers but i dont have any kind of automatic button script. Just reply and say yes i get sick or no i dont get sick.

its common for people to get sick playing games. i have always got motion sickness after playing for more than half to an hour at a time.. but, i only get sick when playing single player games, not online play. it also varies on the game type too. games like UT Onslaught or BF don't get me sick, but games like condition zero do.
|spoiler: when you start getting sick, it means you've been playing long enough |

I got sick and though I was having one of those photosensitive siezures I always see warnings for. Although I kept on playing, it only happened in the begining on the boat and only at a certain part during that long level.
NEver had a problem in any game before that.

Nope no sickness for me. But strangely after around 3 hours of playing i found my self running around the house trying to kill the headcrabs that were trying to get me.

How do you type this in the console when playing single player? There is no console for single player. Is there some other way to get this working, cause I get simulator sickness in less then an hour of playing it.

after you launch HL, click on options and enable the console.. then you can do it.

check your refresh rate my friend.
Refresh rates of 60hz can cause some people to become "Heavy headed" or start to feel eye strain because of the intense repeative flashing of your monitor.
anything above 85hz is good, this also seems to be what HL2 defaults to.
I personally haven't had issues with anything over 85hz. But also be warned that anything above 85hz may cause your monitor's life span to dwindle.
