Re:
1) It runs very decently considering the amount of detail and huge size.
2) I did finish it. It just wasn't made for multiplayer.
3) It's not possible to optimize this map. It is way too open.
4) I have already made some progress on the hostage rescue version. Thanks for the offer anyway

The news is I have doubled my computer's RAM, and now I can do faster compiles. Slow compiles are what kept me from working on this lately.
I will also update some of the texture thanks to my advances in Source material creation.

how do I get this to launch in HL2?
Could somebody explain what to do with the .bsp file? Tried placing in C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\*username*\half-life 2\hl2\maps, then doubleclicking - HL2 runs, but I can't figure out how to get to this map.

Re: how do I get this to launch in HL2?
In the shortcut properties of the game, add the -console parameter. Once the game loads, you can type map fallingwater in the console and it will work.

Struggling...
To make it work.
Which directory should I extract it to?
And what should I do once I've extracted it there?
Thanks

Re: Struggling...
Put the bsp file in: Steam/SteamApps/username/half-life 2/hl2/maps/
Then, open the game with the -console parameter in the shortcut properties. Once the console shows up in game, just type: map fallingwater

Just a side note...
It seems like people are having problems playing it in half life 2. I have Garry's Mod 9.0.4 and all i did was drop the BSP into the /maps folder under gmod and uploaded it to my dedicated server. And within 10 minutes of downloading the origional, me and 5 other people were having a shotgun battle in the living room. And we were modding the map using the tools that Garry's Mod provides. All while playing a multiplayer game. So get Gmod to play it online.

Amazing,
Kasperg, is there any way I could contact you? I'm making a movie about video gamers and I need some dedicated people who would like to help me develop a game for it (nothing huge, just a modification of Counter Strike: Source). Is there any way you might be able to help me, possibly in the level design? I couldn't pay you right off the bat, but I will definitely give you points in the film.
please email me at evanbpeters (at) gmail.com for more details.
Thanks, and beautiful work.

Kasperg has uploaded a beta version of this map. If anyone is interested in playtesting it, it would be great.
Finally, a CS:S conversion!

It's actually the other way around. The Hitman level is based on Wright's Fallingwater house

Brilliant
Absolutely amazing work. I love FLW's work (grew up in a house that is in his style) and I love mapping. Things like this represent the ultimate achievement of mapping, and shows that video games CAN be art.
