error meesage when I try joining any server.

Would anyone be so kind os to help a new guy, and steer me in the right direction for info, RTFM, files...etc...

Delete the map in question from the map folder, and the server will download their version to your computer. That should take care of the problem.

I own a version of Counter-Strike Anthology. The games are awesome, but when I play the original Counter Strike, its says "version doesn't match game servers. I'm so annoyed about this problem. Please guide me to the end of this problem, I'M ADDICTED TO THIS GAME!!!

i think i found ur problem. everytime u by this game, its a version of 1.0. since it has been here since 1999, the servers problably need a NEW version to operate in a server. So go to file vault and look for a version mod to download and install, contact me for further info about your problems.

here's a little something that might help if you havent tried rebooting or anything. make sure that your ARE NOT IN OFFLINE MODE. it happens. if you're in offline mode it can still detect servers but if you try to connect it'll show that error message.

Can you explain how the game can list servers if it's in off-line mode?? The only servers it would display are LAN servers, no internet servers because you have no connection to the Steam authentication servers.

I have same prbem as topic post, do you need a mod? Like Garys mod or something like that? I have no modifications on my game yet.

Easy solutions, this happens when the server has updated the map, all you have to do is go to my computer > c:/ > program files > Steam > steamapps > "Username" > counter strike source > cstrike > maps

Delete the .bsp and .nav portion of the map which isnt loading, and rejoin the server, you will DL the new version of the map, and that should fix it.

I can't find the steam folder in my program files map, but there is located
a SteamApps folder in my Counter strike Source map. But when I open the SteamApps folder, there's nothing in it.

Hey I get the same error message, deleted all the games but it still doesnt work. Could someone post a link of the latest source update? Would be awesome.

I'm getting this same error in Garry's Mod (not one to play much CSS or HL2DM, so no idea if its on those as well).

I'm running Garry's Mod 9.0.4. I loaded into one server running 9.0.4 and the map gm_veryflatmap_v4, a map I did not have. It loaded fine, saving the map to my maps folder. Then, I tried to load into a server running 9.0.4 running freespace_v1-6 and I got the error. It turns out that of the seven or eight servers left that aren't passworded, I can only connect to the one running gm_veryflatmap_v4. I am running 9.0.4, as are the other servers (the filter is set to detect games running 9.0.4 by default and cannot be changed), yet I can't load into most servers.

And I can't go in and update my maps, because I don't have most of these maps. Gmod normally just downloads them as I connect (as was evidenced by my downloading of gm_veryflatmap_v4).

Any ideas?

i got cs 1.6 it works just fine... oh yeah.. is it have ot do anything with stema and non steam... becouse on cs 1.6 i ahve non-steam on cs source i have steam plz help!!!
