Fatal error: less than 128MB with XP64 and ATI card
I cannot play HL2 or CSS or even CSCZ with my new computer equipped with ATI Radeon 800XL + Windows XP64 + 3Gb of RAM. When I try to start the game I have a fatal error : available memory less than 128MB. Could someone help me please ?

When you installed the RAM, did you run a memory diagnostics so it read it as 3GBs? Clean out your RAM?

Your RAM is either used up to that point or HL2 is reading it as 128MBs, run a memory diagnostics.

well this seems like physical system memory and its doesn't seem its related to your video card.. all i can say to try is check that all 3GB memory is being registered on your system.. right click my computer > properties.

you may want to try removing some memory and leaving 1 stick in there... what kind of mother board? i assume you're not running in dual channel memory otherwise you wouldn't have a odd number of 3GB of memory.

try just 1 or 2GB memory and test.

last i heard that steam isnt really supporting 64bit. its better to dual boot windows 32bit and 64bit, but its also a pain in the ass.

looks like only half life 2 is 64bit. unfortunate as windows vista is a 64bit operating system.

ill install xp pro 64bit and see if i can come up with a solution for ya

Question in response to Ircowin
Counter Strike: available memory less than 15mb
I think that all that problems seem to be just because we have more than 2 GB memory on our cpomputers. I played CS on Windows Vista 64-bit with 2 GB RAM and everything was very good. When I put more memory (a total of 4 GB RAM) I received this message: "available memory less than 15mb".

The Solution
Right click on the shortcut, choose properties, compability, mark the Run this program in compability mode for:, choose Windows XP SP2.
The problem is caused of the more than 2gb ram. I solved this problem like that on 64-bit Vista Business having 4gb ram. Cheers!
