Hello!
This might not be the best first post but I gotta ask this one and will of course be more contributing in the future.
Anyway, me and some friends at school are trying to run a server to play on LAN and because it's an IT high school it's kinda hard to hack you through stuff because of they've know everything about cs and steam etc. sadly since probably some of the teachers play themself, lol.
So steam and all ports etc. are blocked but we did find one way out, standalone half-life dedicated server tool which sometimes actually works pretty good.
But we had some major lag with that one since it's a part of the CS we have installed.
(Non steam because steam are blocked)
I think it's because CS and HLDS are runned from the same folder etc. and we had major ping etc. because we run it wirelessly except for the server host who use a network cable.
Anyway, I found out that if you download half-life dedicated server tool and patch it so people with non steam can join the game and it works, my ping went down from like 40-60 down to 5-15 and it works superb, I also were able to install AMX on it as well which I were not able to do on the old setup.
But were I got the server installer file which extracts and install all the files in a specified folder and your basically done and it's just to start HLDS and it's pretty much up after you have entered the settings you want in the small boxes.
Anyway, but when it extracted and installed itself it automatically updated itself to Protocol 48 which pretty much non of us use, and it would take a while if everyone should download and patch and explain everything how to connect since it doesn't even work proper if you patch your CS to Protocol 48 so my question is:
How do I downgrade the HLDS to Protocol 47 and let it stay there?
Best Regards,
