well i jus got cs 1.6
i have windows vista home basic
and whenever i join a game, it loads 3 bars and says "Establishing network connection to server..." and freezes there
i searched almost EVERYWHERE but i couldnt find the answer
i also did all the stuff i know and what ppl told me but still doesnt work
for some reason i only does that to old versions of games like cs 1.6, dod while css and dods works just fine

plz answer my question!!!

Check your firewall settings and ensure you have allowed access to steam and CS

which includes the firewall

It happens to me too but randomly. Sometimes the progress bar advances to "downloading resources" (or similar text) but hangs there. It is not firewall setting problem beause sometimes it is just enough to restart the steam.

It is very annoying and I would be happy if someone knows solution to this problem.
